Cultural Sharing Ceremony by Next Generation
They call themselves the Next Generation, all youth singers and
dancers from the Pueblo of Acoma performing the White Buffalo
dance. Through this ceremony, these young people are overcoming
the challenges of coming of age, social oppression, substance use,
and autonomy. They practice their ancient language, culture, and
ceremonies to champion self-identity and decolonization. These
young individuals are the hope for future resilience and the
realization of every elder's prayer. They are the Next Generation,
bringing hope, love, and prayers with every drum beat and dance
step for the next generations to come.
