Welcome Message from
RMRTD Executive Director
¡Bienvenidos a Albuquerque! Rio Metro is thrilled to be hosting the 2025
LIT Leadership Summit here in central New Mexico, the cultural
crossroads of the Land of Enchantment.
This summit is both timely and important given the pivotal period of
change we find ourselves in—a climate driven by technological
advancements, evolving rider demands and tightening transit budgets,
to name a few. As we navigate these challenges together over the next
few days, it is my hope that you will share best practices among your
peers and embrace them as opportunities to cultivate innovation and
help shape the future of the transit industry.
Rio Metro has a long history of supporting professionals in the transit
industry and encouraging them to seek leadership roles through
opportunity and advancement. As the industry evolves, the need for the
transit system to be seamless for the traveler is more important than
ever. We must continually take stock in the transformative power of
transit and the collective effort required to build a better, more
sustainable transportation future. This is why the role that LIT plays in
providing a forum for conversation and coordination is more vital than
ever.
In closing, I want to invite you to take time to enjoy the conference and
be sure to explore our beautiful Rio Grande Valley. We have a rich
history when it comes to transit here in New Mexico and a bright future
as we move forward.
