ABOUT LIT
LIT
Originally founded as Latinos In Transit in 2016 by Terry
Solis and Flora Castillo to foster professional growth
within the transit sector, the organization has grown
significantly over the past decade. Now, 10 years later, it
is widely known as LIT, a nonprofit organization
committed to empowering professionals in the transit
industry to achieve leadership roles by advancing
opportunities for workforce development, mentorship,
networking, and education. Membership is made up of
public and private transportation professionals from
across the nation who meet regularly to network, share
information and celebrate the professional development
of all members.
LIT’s vision is to foster a strong pipeline of skilled,
multidisciplinary professionals that support the evolution
and innovation of the transit industry.
