Program
Overview.
The LIT Small Business Academy is a six-module certification program
designed to provide business owners with the tools, knowledge, and
strategies needed to thrive in the multi-billion-dollar transit industry. Open to
LIT members, the program offers structured, practical content tailored for
small business success.
The Academy is designed to become a core offering of LIT, delivering added
value to members and equipping entrepreneurs with the insights and
resources to expand their reach and impact within the transit space.
Registration deadline: May 27, 2025.
Sessions
The LIT Small Business Academy includes six interactive sessions, each lasting
1.5 hours with a Q&A component. Sessions cover key business topics essential
for growth and success, including developing a Statement of Capabilities and
conducting a SWOT Analysis, building credit for your business, exploring
alternative sources of financing, understanding government resources such
as SBA, DOT, EX-IM Bank, ITA, and SAM registration, identifying private sector
procurement opportunities, and strengthening your online presence through
websites, social media, and SEO.
Virtual Program Schedule
The LIT Small Business Academy runs over six months, beginning in June
2025. One session is held each month, with a break in August, and each
session lasts 1.5 hours. The training will be conducted virtually, providing
flexibility and access to members across all locations.
Digital Certificate
The attendee will receive a LIT Small Business Academy digital certificate of
completion per session.
