RULES FOR COMMITTEE PARTICIPATION &
GOVERNANCE
1. Mandatory Participation for Board Members
All LIT Board Members must serve actively on at least one committee
during the 2026 term. Committee service is a core responsibility of
board governance and ensures that the work of the organization is
carried out efficiently and collaboratively.
2. Committee Chair Eligibility
All committees must be chaired by a board member.
Committee chairs are appointed exclusively by the Board
President.
Appointed chairs must accept the leadership responsibility
associated with the role.
3. Governing vs. Program Committees
To maintain clear governance structure and program delivery
standards, LIT differentiates Governing Committees from Program
Committees.
A. Governing Committees
These committees oversee LIT’s structural, administrative, and
oversight functions. Examples include:
Executive Officers & Strategic Planning
Board Evaluation
Budget, Audit & Finance
Governance-related ad-hoc committees
