Capstone Project Guide
To successfully graduate from the LIT Leadership Academy (LITLA), participants are
required to complete a capstone project, culminating in an in-person presentation. The
Capstone Project Presentation will take place during the LIT Leadership Summit in
Columbus, Ohio.
This guide has been created to help participants work effectively in teams and complete
their projects step by step.
Capstone Project Deliverables
Touch base with your team's mentor to gather feedback on the following items before
submitting them to Fernanda. Please submit the following items by their respective due
dates via email to f.uribe@latinosintransit.org. Due dates coincide with the module
sessions.
1.- Team Name
Due: April 15, 2026 (Module 1)
Choose a team name and submit it. Once submitted, your team name cannot be changed.
2.- Presentation Title & Description
Due: May 20, 2026 (Module 2)
Provide a title and a brief description of your presentation (maximum of five sentences). An
example can be found here. Once finalized, your topic and description cannot be changed.
Begin researching your topic and gathering relevant resources to support your
presentation.
3.- Outline
Due: June 17, 2026 (Module 3)
Finalize and submit your presentation outline. You may use the sample outline provided
or create your own.
4.- First Draft
Due: July 15, 2026 (Module 4)
Submit the initial draft of your presentation, including a complete outline and the research
sources you plan to reference. This draft should demonstrate the structure of your
presentation and the key points you intend to cover.
5.- Second Draft
Due: August 19, 2026 (Module 5)
Submit the second draft of your presentation, which should include most of the graphics,
visual aids, and content you plan to use.
