Welcome to the Summit
Dear Leadership Summit Attendees, Partners, Sponsors, and Members of the LIT Family,
On behalf of the Latinos In Transit (LIT) Board of Directors, it is my distinct honor and privilege to
welcome you to the 2026 Latinos In Transit Leadership Summit in Columbus, Ohio, as we celebrate
10 years of impact, leadership, and community.
This year's Summit represents a significant milestone in our organization's journey. What began as a
vision to create opportunities, foster connections, and elevate Latino leadership throughout the
transportation industry has grown into a vibrant and influential network of professionals committed
to strengthening our communities through public transportation.
As we gather in Columbus, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our gracious co-host, COTA
(Central Ohio Transit Authority), whose partnership and hospitality have helped make this special
event possible. Together, we are creating an experience that honors our past achievements while
focusing on the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
The Leadership Summit has always been more than a conference. It is a place where relationships are
formed, ideas are exchanged, and careers are transformed. Over the next several days, you will have
the opportunity to engage with industry leaders, learn from emerging voices, participate in
meaningful discussions, and expand your professional network with colleagues from across North
America. I encourage you to take full advantage of every session, conversation, and networking
opportunity. Some of the most valuable lessons and lasting partnerships often begin with a simple
introduction.
As we celebrate our tenth anniversary, we remain firmly committed to one of LIT's core purposes:
developing leaders. Leadership is not defined by a title or position. It is demonstrated through
service, courage, mentorship, and a commitment to creating opportunities for others. Whether you
are an established executive, an emerging professional, a board member, a business owner, or a
student exploring a future in transportation, this Summit is designed to help you grow as a leader and
deepen your impact on our industry.
The future of public transportation depends on leaders who are willing to innovate, collaborate, and
inspire. It depends on individuals who recognize that building stronger organizations begins with
investing in people. Throughout this Summit, I hope you will be energized by new ideas, challenged to
think differently, and encouraged to continue advancing your own leadership journey.
As President of the Board, I am incredibly proud of what LIT has accomplished over the past decade.
More importantly, I am excited about what we will achieve together in the years ahead. The success of
this organization has always been driven by the passion, dedication, and generosity of its members
and supporters. Thank you for being part of this remarkable community and for helping us build a
stronger, more inclusive future for transportation.
