December 24, 2026. Firms that never respond are disqualified after March 24, 2027.

USDOT Final Rule issued, effective same day. Keeps the interim rule's approach and

MAY 22, 2026
House Transportation Committee passed H.R. 8870 (BUILD America 250 Act), which
would reauthorize DBE with a 10% national goal. No floor vote yet.
MAR 2026
Mid-America Milling lawsuit dismissed as moot.
OCT 3, 2025
Interim Final Rule removed race and sex presumptions. Every owner must prove
disadvantage with a personal narrative and net worth statement. (Federal Register)
