Aida Berduo Berry, Vice-President, Advisory & Planning Services | Civil
Rights Practice Lead at WSP
Aida Berduo Berry’s professional career in transportation started almost 25
years ago.She joined WSP in February 2024 as the Vice President of Advisory
Services and serves as the Civil Rights Advisory Practice Lead. Before joining
WSP, she worked for Metro Los Angeles as the Senior Manager of Civil
Rights Programs (Title VI) in the Ofûce of Civil Rights Racial Equity &
Inclusion as well as the Manager of DBE and SBE Certiûcation in the
Diversity and Economic Opportunity Department.
Aida previously served as the Regulatory Compliance and Civil Rights Ofûcer
for Long Beach Transit where she oversaw compliance for the Americans
with Disabilities Act (ADA)requirements, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise
(DBE) Program implementation, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)
Program, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as well as Environmental Justice. Prior to that, she worked
for the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) as the Interim Regional Civil Rights Ofûcer for Region VI in
Texas. She also worked for a federal contractor as a Program Analyst in the FTA Ofûce of Civil Rights
assisting Region IV in Atlanta, GA overseeing the compliance of all federal civil rights programs; the DBE,
Title VI(including Environmental Justice), EEO and ADA.She began her transit career in Austin, TX working
for Capital Metro in 1999.Aida has been an Adjunct Instructor for Rutgers University National Transit
Institute since 2014, teaching the Title VI and Public Transit Course. She Co-Chairs APTA’s Environmental
Justice and Title VI Sub Committee under the Program and Project Development Committee. Aida is a
former Board Member of United Friends of the Children, an organization that advocates and serves foster
youth in Los Angeles County, Latinos In Transit, and the Conference of Minority Transportation Ofûcials
(COMTO). She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University
Dominguez Hills and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Texas State University -San Marcos.
Alashia Bryant, Technical Assistance and Outreach Associate, Transit
Workforce Center (TWC)
Alashia joined ITLC in 2024 as the Technical Assistance and Outreach
Associate. She has a strong background in mental and behavioral health,
workforce development, and community engagement. Since 2018, Alashia
has been a champion for job seekers, building a track record in developing
community employment opportunities. She holds a Bachelor of Science in
Family Science from the University of Maryland College Park. Alashia
currently operates TWC's technical assistance helpdesk and leads the
development and publication of TWC’s Pulse e-newsletter and Transit
Career Stories.
